It’s exciting to see more retailers and designers recognizing the value of handmade goods, especially in today’s home decor and interior design market. There’s a growing demand for unique items that reflect true craftsmanship, quality, and originality. To help you discover hidden gems, I’ve compiled a list of five lesser-known artisan fairs happening this summer, perfect for anyone looking to explore and source one-of-a-kind pieces directly from artists.
June 1-2, 2025—Latvian Folk Art Market - Riga, Latvia. I attended this folk art show a few years ago, and I must say it was an absolute gem. I went with few expectations but was completely inspired by the rich craft heritage Latvia has held onto over the years, from exquisite pottery to Latvian basketry and textiles. A handful are ready for export.
July 4, 5, 6, 2025—Corazón da Artesanía, a crafts fair in Agolada (Pontevedra), Spain. A small craft show featuring traditional craftsmen throughout Spain. I’ll be attending for the first time this year. I will be sure to report back on my thoughts and reflections from the show.
August 17-20, 2025 (be sure to double-check the date)—The Festival of Crafts in Buda Castle, Budapest, celebrates Hungarian Crafts. The country’s largest international handicraft festival is an excellent way to explore its craft heritage and buy unique folk art.
August 22-24, 2025—The Jagiellonian Fair Festival, Lublin, Poland. This is the country's most prominent folk culture festival. A hub that draws concerts, workshops, and traditional Polish crafts, along with artists from around the world.
September 6-8, 2025—Craft Festival: Wales. Cardigan Castle, Wales. This is another show on my radar that I will attend this fall. As always, I will report back, but if you are curious to explore artisanal brands throughout Wales, add this show to your list.
