This month, I’m excited to share a conversation with Regan Billingsley, founder of RB Curated, a new artisan textile and home brand that launched this past spring. She offers a beautiful selection of pillows, throws, and fabrics that celebrate Guatemala's unique traditions and heritage.
Regan’s adventurous spirit has taken her to every corner of Guatemala. Having traveled extensively throughout the country, she now sources from more than ten cooperatives to offer some of the most exquisite Guatemalan textiles. With a background in design and having run her own interior design firm, Regan understands her clients' needs, the trade market, and has a sensitivity for the artists with whom she works.
Regan shares how she first started. After some health issues, she was left bedridden, and she read every book she could about Guatemalan history and textiles. By the time she recovered, she had planned a trip to the country, after which she started the brand. It's since grown into something gorgeous, thoughtful, and sensitive, while meeting the market's needs. During our conversation, she also shared her top sourcing tips as an interior designer, her go-to sources, and the thinking behind her design process for clients. She didn’t hold back, and this one is a joy to share. Enjoy!
