Minho, where the rivers carry the mountains toward the sea.

I just got back from a little road trip exploring the beautiful region of Minho, Portugal, in the northwest of the country. It's an area I've been drawn to for quite some time, particularly for its unique granite architecture, manor houses, rich culture of craft, and traditional festivals. Each region of Portugal has its own unique spirit, of course, but Minho has all of that, plus lush forests, rivers, and green hills that felt especially appealing. Given everything going on in the world right now, I’ve been craving the opportunity to be surrounded by the serenity of nature.

Read on to discover some of the gorgeous spots in this region that I experienced personally, including historic hotels, craft shops, antique markets, and tucked-away villages. Places that will nourish your soul.

Thank you, as always, for being a member, and happy summer!
